From the age of 6 I was raised in lily-white Westchester county – a suburb of NYC. I attended a 98% Caucasian liberal arts college. So I was socialized with and lived around mostly college educated Caucasian people too. Whatever commonality with Caucasian women you think that endears me with surely wasn’t perceived mutually – as reflected in their lack of choosing me as their romantic interest in those days. In a more idealized world perhaps class and socialization would be the only tings that divide us, but I think (hope) you know better than that.

He has probably spent more time hanging out with white women in the last 11 years than any other race. As probably have you. Whether they perceive it wasn’t my point.

My point was that he probably has more in common with white women than with an African-American female, based upon the life he’s lived during that time. Whether they choose him doesn’t affect who he has the most in common with, because, like I said, I think Boston is a pretty racist place, so I don’t think people are making dating decisions based upon who they most connect with. When and if people make superficial decisions based upon race, then they’re not going to reflecting about other commonalities.
